Preview and start from a useful one-page structure
Open the Event website template preview before creating anything. The fictional preview shows how a single page can combine an event introduction, date and location, useful notes and contact choices. Treat the sample organizer, venue and event as demonstration content rather than testimonials or proven results. The point is to inspect the structure, not to copy claims that may not be true for your own event.
The Event template starts with one page and three editable section types: Text, Links and Contact. Text carries the narrative and practical details; Links send guests to selected destinations; Contact presents the configured contact actions. This is the default content, not a claim that every event needs every section. Review the website templates if you want to compare alternatives, but the Event template already provides the simplest starting point for a focused event page.
- Exact event name and a short explanation of its purpose.
- Date, start and finish times, plus the time zone where useful.
- Venue name, full address and a tested directions link.
- Arrival, parking, access and booking information that guests need.
- One enquiry channel and the person or team responsible for replies.
Edit the default sections for real event information
Start in the Text sections and replace the fictional sample copy. Introduce the event in plain language, explain who it is for, and state what guests will experience. Add the date, start and finish times, and the time zone if guests may travel from elsewhere. Keep the wording specific: an exact time and a named venue are more useful than a broad promise. You can also link to a fuller event information page guests can check before they arrive if your own site already contains arrival or schedule details.
Use the Links section for the official agenda, external booking page, venue directions, tickets or other destinations that are genuinely ready. Give each link a descriptive label such as View the agenda or Get directions instead of an unexplained label. A link opens its destination; it does not automatically become part of QREasy. Add and arrange supported sections as needed, but distinguish a section you have added from the Text, Links and Contact sections supplied by the template.
Use the Contact section for the contact actions the organizer will monitor (such as a phone number, email address or an external booking link, where the template offers them), and describe only the channels actually available in the Event template's Contact section. Check names, addresses and destination links before publishing. Then read the page as a first-time guest: can they identify when and where the event happens, understand any access details, and find a suitable next step without searching through unrelated material? Remove sample content, duplicate links and stale instructions.
- The date includes the year and time zone when ambiguity is possible.
- The venue, address and arrival instructions agree.
- Every booking or directions link opens the intended destination.
- QREasy actions are labelled Enquire or Contact rather than implying native registration.
- No fictional names, placeholder details or outdated sample text remain.
Keep enquiries separate from reservations
The default Event page is not a registration or booking engine. It does not provide native customer contact forms, an enquiry inbox, appointment availability, calendar booking, inventory, checkout, payment processing or automated reservation confirmations. Phone, email and WhatsApp actions open those external channels, so a message sent through one of them is an enquiry, not proof that a place has been reserved.
An external booking link can lead to a separate provider that the business already uses. That provider may manage availability and issue confirmations under its own rules, but QREasy does not determine how it works. Do not describe the external service as incapable of confirmation simply because it sits outside QREasy; describe only what you have verified. Likewise, do not imply that the Event template itself has reserved a place, selected a time or completed a payment.
If your business offers scheduling, ticketing or reservations through another process, link to that process and explain the handoff. For example, the page can invite guests to enquire by email, then direct confirmed guests to a separate booking provider. If you rely on an external form, link to the provider your business already uses and make the next step clear. The event page remains the place for event information and contact routes, not the system of record.
Publish the hosted page and keep its address
When the content is ready, publish the website through QREasy. QREasy hosts the editable site and assigns its website address. The published page then provides the central destination for guests. Website access needs an internet connection. After publication, test the address on a phone and a desktop, open each link, and verify that the page does not still contain fictional preview material.
Keep the same address when you revise the date, replace an image, correct the venue or add a new enquiry link. A hosted webpage can show updated content without creating a new address. That means you can send the same URL again after a correction. It also means the page should be treated as the live source of truth: pause distribution if the content is not ready, and publish the update to the same address and confirm it on the live page before telling guests to check again..
Review changes in the published page, not only the editor. Confirm that the heading, timing, location and contact choices agree across sections. If an external booking provider changes its own page, that update is outside your hosted page; QREasy cannot validate the provider’s availability or rules. For more sharing choices, compare the available QREasy QR code generators after the live page is working.
Choose how guests will open the event page
For a simple event website, a static URL QR code is often enough. It contains a fixed URL. As long as you continue to serve the event page at that same address, you can change its content without changing or reprinting the QR. A dynamic QR uses a managed redirect, allowing its destination to be changed without reprinting, subject to plan limits. Dynamic is useful when you want a redirect that you may retarget, not merely because the hosted page is editable.
Neither QR type guarantees that every device will scan it. Test the code with the phones and cameras your guests are likely to use, and keep the printed version simple. Before generating a code, open the QREasy plans page to check the current allowance and choose the plan that matches how many websites, pages and redirect codes you need.
Avoid confusing a static URL QR with a QR that stores contact details directly. The URL code opens the website; a contact card code has a different purpose. If you also want the event page attached to a digital business card, choose a Lite SME or Business plan. The website-linked Wallet card’s QR encodes the website URL and opens it in the phone browser, not inside Wallet. Google Wallet also provides a Visit Page link, but the underlying distinction remains: Wallet is a shortcut to the hosted site, while the site is the destination.
