Choose the template and create your website
Begin with the Restaurant website template preview and compare it with the other QREasy website templates. The restaurant preview is a four-page premium template for sharing a menu, location and hours, so assess the structure rather than expecting a single long page. Use the preview to plan what belongs on each page, then move into QREasy to build the editable site.
Open QREasy and choose the restaurant premium template. Create the website, replace the fictional demonstration content with your own business details, then add and arrange sections. Preview the site on a phone, check links and opening information, and publish. Keep the published web address in your records: the same address can display later content updates, so a normal menu revision does not require a new address.
- Confirm the Lite SME or Business plan before using the premium template.
- Use real menu categories, prices, allergen notes and contact details.
- Check the location, hours and service times on a phone-sized preview.
- Publish only after testing every phone, email, WhatsApp and booking link.
Map the four default pages
The template's four default pages should form a simple customer journey rather than duplicate the same information. The template shares a menu, location and hours and starts with 4 pages; plan a simple content map for those pages—for example, page 1 menu categories, page 2 location and hours, page 3 food and atmosphere, and page 4 contact and booking. Page names and content are yours to set when you build the site.
When editing, check whether a dish description belongs in Restaurant menu, Text or Gallery. Use Text for a short explanation such as dietary guidance or ordering instructions, and Gallery for photographs of food, rooms and service. Make sure the address, map or directions link, opening days and service hours agree with information shown elsewhere, especially if the team changes hours seasonally.
- Suggested page 1: menu categories, item names, descriptions and prices.
- Suggested page 2: location, access, parking and opening hours.
- Suggested page 3: food and atmosphere images with a short introduction.
- Suggested page 4: contact, booking route and other visit details.
Edit free sections and add premium blocks carefully
The core editing blocks needed by most restaurants are available on a Free website: Restaurant menu, Links, Products, Gallery, Text, Contact, Social, Save Contact and Events. For this use case, focus on Restaurant menu for dishes, Gallery for photographs, Text for explanations, Links for actions and Contact for phone or email details. A Free plan can still describe services and show past work through ordinary Text and Gallery sections.
Do not confuse a free section with a premium layout. Premium section types include service-grid, profile, testimonials, faq, locations, stats-strip, before-after, team-grid, process, technology-list and several media or publication blocks. Editorial layouts and image sliders also require a paid plan. A premium block may be drafted before an upgrade, but it cannot be published on Free; the Restaurant premium template itself requires Lite SME or Business.
- Add a Restaurant menu section for each useful menu category.
- Keep Gallery images focused on food, rooms and service.
- Use Text for short visit guidance rather than dense paragraphs.
- Place key actions in Links and repeat essential details in Contact.
- Upgrade before publishing premium-only section types.
Connect enquiries and reservations without overpromising
Customer actions work by leaving the QREasy page for an external channel. A phone action starts a call, an email action opens the mail application, WhatsApp opens the relevant chat, and an external booking link sends the guest to a separate provider. QREasy does not include a verified native contact form, enquiry inbox, appointment calendar, availability system, automated confirmation, ordering, checkout, payment processing or property CRM.
A call, email or WhatsApp message is an enquiry, not a confirmed reservation. If you use an external booking service, describe the link accurately and let that provider apply its own rules; it may confirm bookings through its own process. The limitation concerns the QREasy website only. Your restaurant can independently offer reservations, ordering or payments through other systems, but those functions should not be presented as native QREasy features.
- Label actions honestly: Call, Email, WhatsApp or Book with partner.
- Test the mobile confirmation flow of any external booking provider.
- State opening hours beside the booking route when relevant.
- Do not promise confirmation until the external provider confirms it.
- Add operational instructions through Text or Links.
Publish QR menus and decide how they behave
A static URL QR encodes one fixed address. The page served at that address can be edited or replaced, so a static menu QR does not need reprinting when only its content changes. Changing the encoded destination does require a new static code. A dynamic QR uses a managed redirect whose destination can be changed without reprinting, subject to plan limits. A hosted QREasy website does not need a dynamic QR merely to update its menu, and a static URL QR is not embedded static contact-card data.
When a customer scans the website QR, the phone opens the website address in its browser; it does not display the site inside Wallet. Website-linked Wallet cards require Lite SME or Business. Recipients can review and save contact details or the website-linked card according to the supported Wallet journey, and Google Wallet also provides a Visit Page link. Contact Wallet cards and the first one-page website remain free.
Create and test the code with the QREasy QR code generators, then print it at a readable size and check it under real lighting. Before release, follow this restaurant website checklist before sharing a menu QR. Customers need an internet connection, and neither QR type guarantees scanning on every device, so test several phones and keep the web address available for customers who have trouble.
- Static URL: best when the destination address stays the same.
- Dynamic: useful when a managed redirect must change destinations.
- Place a fallback web address near entrances and tables.
Match publishing limits to your plan
The premium template requirement is independent of Wallet use: choose Lite SME or Business for the four-page Restaurant template even if no Wallet card is created. Website-linked Wallet cards are included with both paid plans, but that is a separate rule. Free remains useful for a contact card and a first one-page website using supported free sections.
Plan capacity determines how many sites, pages, dynamic codes and days of analytics you can use. Static QR codes are unlimited on all three plans. Review the QREasy plans and pricing before publishing: premium sections may be drafted on Free but cannot go live there, while the premium template itself requires a qualifying paid plan.
After upgrading, publish the restaurant template and its premium sections only after checking the mobile layout. Test each default page, then scan the final website QR from the published address. This final pass catches broken links, outdated sample text and the most common mismatch between the printed menu and the live menu.
