Start with the Simple restaurant template
Begin by opening the Simple restaurant template preview. This template is available on Free, defaults to one page, and is designed to share a menu, location, and hours. From the editor, replace the demonstration content with the restaurant’s real information, then review the blocks already present before adding anything else.
If the layout does not suit the restaurant, browse the website templates before creating another site. QREasy lets you choose a template and add or arrange supported sections with text, images, contact details, and links. The preview demonstrates a starting point; it should not be mistaken for a multi-page restaurant site.
- Free start: Simple restaurant is available on the Free plan.
- One-page default: Plan the first version around a single customer journey.
- Sample content is fictional: Replace names, dishes, and details.
- Manual check: Review the published page on a phone before sharing it.
Plan a clear one-page information hierarchy
Plan the page in the order a guest is likely to need it. Begin with a short Text section that identifies the restaurant and its style, follow with the Restaurant menu section, then place opening days, service hours, address, and location details where they remain easy to find. Finish with practical notes and a clear contact route.
Keep each block focused. For a menu, group items by category and describe them consistently; include prices only if you use them. For hours, state opening days and service periods clearly. For location, provide the full address and a useful landmark or neighborhood. A restaurant menu website guide can help refine the wording and order.
- Menu: Group dishes and note formats such as takeaway or dine-in.
- Hours: List regular service days and explain temporary changes.
- Location: Give the full address and a recognizable landmark.
- Practical details: Mention parking, transport, or access only when confirmed.
- Ownership: Assign one person to check hours and menu changes.
Build the page with the right blocks
Use QREasy’s supported blocks rather than forcing every need into one long Text section. Free sections include Restaurant menu, Links, Products, Gallery, Text, Contact, Social, Save Contact, and Events. For a restaurant, these can cover the menu, photos, narrative information, contact choices, links, and social destinations.
Some layouts and section types are premium. Examples include music, video, Service Grid, Profile, FAQ, locations, stats strips, before-and-after, team grids, testimonials, process blocks, technology lists, editorial layouts, and image sliders. A premium section may be drafted on Free, but it cannot be published on Free; publish it only with Lite SME or Business.
Ordinary Text and Gallery sections can describe the restaurant, services, or past events, but that does not make premium display blocks free. Also distinguish the template’s starting content from sections you add yourself. The Events block is a content section, not a registration or scheduling system.
- Free blocks: Cover core restaurant content without paid features.
- Paid blocks: Draft where useful, then upgrade before publishing.
- Visual proof: Use Gallery for clear food or interior photographs.
- Function labels: Events or Links do not create native booking tools.
Connect practical contact and booking channels
Add the channels the restaurant already uses: phone, email, WhatsApp, or an external booking link. These actions open the relevant external channel. QREasy does not include a verified native customer contact form or enquiry inbox, and it does not provide native appointment scheduling, calendar availability, automated confirmations, ordering, checkout, payment processing, or a property CRM.
A phone call, email, or WhatsApp message is an enquiry, not a confirmed reservation. A linked booking provider may confirm reservations under its own rules, but QREasy does not determine that provider’s functionality. If the business uses a separate form, link to that provider and describe it as an external service rather than a QREasy form.
- Phone: Place the number in a supported contact area.
- Email: Let guests open a prepared message.
- WhatsApp: Open the restaurant’s external conversation.
- Booking: Use the provider’s own link and rules.
Publish, maintain, and check the live page
Review the page for broken links, current hours, readable menu descriptions, and a clear route for enquiries. Publish when the content is ready. The published site needs an internet connection to access, and its address can remain the same when the menu, hours, images, or links change.
Treat publication as the start of maintenance rather than a one-time upload. Check the page after updating the menu or hours, especially before busy service periods. If a QR already points to the website address, content changes at that same address do not by themselves require a new printed code.
- Before publishing: Confirm contact links open the intended destinations.
- After publishing: Test the page on the devices staff and guests use.
- After updates: Recheck hours, temporary closures, and menu availability.
Choose the QR code and Wallet setup
A static URL QR contains a fixed web address. A hosted restaurant page at that address can change without changing or reprinting the code; only changing the encoded address requires a new static QR. This is different from a static code that embeds contact data directly. The QREasy QR code generators can help create the appropriate destination for the use case.
A dynamic QR uses a managed redirect, so its destination can change without reprinting, subject to plan limits. A hosted website does not need a dynamic QR merely because its content will be edited. Neither static nor dynamic QR codes guarantee scanning on every device, so test the code in the places and conditions where it will be used.
Wallet choices have separate plan rules. Contact Wallet cards and the first one-page website are free, while a Wallet card linked to a QREasy website requires Lite SME or Business. Scanning the website QR opens the site in the phone browser rather than running it inside Wallet; Google Wallet also provides a Visit Page link. Compare the QREasy plans before publishing.
