What microsite architecture means in QREasy
QREasy provides digital business cards for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, a small website builder and free QR tools. Its hosted websites are editable: choose a template, add and arrange supported sections with text, images, services, contact details and links, then publish. The same website address can show updated content, although visitors need internet access.
Think of the architecture in three layers. The destination is the hosted page or URL encoded in a QR. The presentation layer is the template and the sections you arrange. The journey layer is what happens after a scan: viewing a page, opening an external channel, or reviewing and saving contact details in Wallet. Clear roles prevent a card, page and QR from sending people to conflicting destinations.
- Destination: where the scan ultimately lands.
- Content model: which supported sections answer the visitor’s questions.
- Journey: what action the visitor can take next.
Choosing the destination: website, static QR or dynamic QR
A hosted editable website is the best fit when the destination itself is a QREasy page and its content needs to change. The QR can keep pointing to the same address. You do not need a dynamic QR merely because you edit text, replace an image or reorganise published content. Website access depends on an internet connection, and neither QR type guarantees scanning on every device, so test the intended route.
A static URL QR encodes a fixed URL. The webpage or PDF served at that same address may change without changing or reprinting the code. If you change the encoded URL, however, you need a new static QR. This is not the same as a static QR containing embedded vCard data. Use the QREasy QR code generators to create the asset after you have settled the destination and its ownership.
A dynamic QR uses a managed redirect, so its destination can be changed without reprinting, subject to plan limits. It is useful when campaigns, locations or partners require different final addresses over time. It adds a routing layer rather than replacing the need to choose suitable content. Use it when the destination changes, not simply to make a normal hosted page editable.
- Hosted website: stable address with editable content.
- Static URL QR: fixed encoded address; content served there may change.
- Dynamic QR: managed redirect for a destination that may change.
Structuring pages with templates and supported sections
Templates determine the starting structure, while sections determine what the visitor can read, see and do. The business-card template starts with Save Contact, Contact and Links, not a prebuilt services area. The Event template starts with editable Text, Links and Contact, not a scheduling or registration system. A consultant can use ordinary Text and Gallery sections to explain services and show past work.
Plan the page in the order of a customer’s decision: name the business, explain the offer, show relevant work, then present a contact or booking route. The guide to choosing a small business template can help narrow the layout first. Add sections deliberately rather than treating every visible template element as a permanent feature.
Free sections include Restaurant menu, Links, Products, Gallery, Text, Contact, Social, Save Contact and Events. Premium publishing requires Lite SME or Business for music, video, channels, downloads, CTA, image, premium-gallery, service-grid, FAQ, publications, credibility-strip, locations, stats-strip, before-after, profile, team-grid, testimonials, process and technology-list; editorial layouts and image sliders are also paid. Premium sections can be drafted on Free but not published.
Connecting Wallet journeys and enquiry links
QREasy Wallet journeys support two outcomes: recipients can review and save contact details, or open a QREasy website from a website-linked card. The latter requires Lite SME or Business. Its QR encodes the website URL, and scanning opens the site in the phone browser rather than inside Wallet. Google Wallet also includes a Visit Page link; there is no mandatory card-review step before opening the site. For contact-first use, see the digital business card creator.
Restaurant and beauty templates can add phone, email, WhatsApp and external booking links. Each action opens the relevant external channel. A phone call, email or WhatsApp message is not itself a confirmed reservation, while an external booking provider may confirm reservations under its own rules. QREasy does not provide a native customer contact form or enquiry submission inbox. If the business already uses a separate form provider, link to that provider rather than implying that QREasy receives the entries.
Do not assume native appointment scheduling, calendar availability, inventory, automated confirmations, ordering, checkout, payment processing or a property CRM. These are limits of the QREasy website, not of the business’s wider offer: a consultant may still provide scheduling, payment or other services through the company’s own processes. Place the relevant external link beside useful context, and label the action accurately so visitors know which channel handles the enquiry.
Matching the architecture to publishing limits and plan capacity
Choose the plan after mapping your destinations, page count, QR behaviour, analytics needs and Wallet route. Compare the published entitlements on QREasy plans, then check the limits below against the intended launch. Static QR capacity is unlimited on every listed plan; dynamic capacity, retained analytics and website-linked Wallet access are the more important differentiators here.
A practical rule is to start with Free for a single-page test, move to Lite SME when a compact multi-site set or website-linked Wallet card is required, and consider Business when you need materially more sites, pages and dynamic QR routing. Revisit the choice when campaigns, locations or partner destinations change; the architecture should remain understandable to the person publishing it.
